About Me

fourth grade teacher             instructional lead &           EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST

Nichole Varble

This year marks my 10th year as a classroom teacher. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. I’ve taught 5th, 1st, and now I’m returning for a 3rd year in 4th grade where I got my start as a student teacher. For the past four years, I have been living among the bluffs and hills of the Mississippi River in Illinois. We have a spoiled Dachshund named Gizmo. I enjoy designing curriculum and creating new and exciting resources for my classroom. I love sharing what really works in a student-centered classroom. I also enjoy educational technology and love teaching others how to implement it into their practice.

  MY MISSION

Inspiring Our Classrooms and Providing Value That Impacts Our Teaching

I am here to share information and resources and facilitate conversations about today’s educational issues. Our world is changing and teachers are change-agents. Where do we want to take our students to prepare them for their future? How do we help them best using the best tools available that fit their individual needs?

I’m excited about this adventure and collaborating with you to expand our profession and dive deep into our passions, values, and visions for shaping the world. John Hattie says it best in his Visible Learning for Teachers:  Maximizing Impact on Learning that “among the most important purposes is the development of critical evaluation skills, such that we develop citizens with challenging minds and dispositions, who become active, competent, and thoughtfully critical in our complex world” (4).

My vision and mission for this resource is to provide you with a way to teach simply and effectively and I hope to inspire your passion for teaching.

The following are the foundations of this website based on my vision and mission to serve the world as an educator, advocate, and curriculum designer.
